Short Back and Sides

Had a bit of lie-in today, seeing as it’s Sunday. Lovely morning, wind’s dropped, sun’s out. Still chilly enough to warrant several layers of teeshirts and fleeces. Went to see how the cubes were doing first of all. I guesstimate there’s about a 100 litres between the 4 of them, not a huge amount.

After yesterday’s work on the Cascades, I felt a bit guilty at how overgrown they’d become, I’ve neglected them a bit over the winter.

So out with the strimmer again, quick clean of the sparkplug, and off we go. Doing well until the blade came loose and the safety guard hurled itself off. Spent a couple of hours rebuilding it all, with some mods to stop it disassembling itself again (mostly involving silicon!) and cracked on. By 8pm, I’d managed to do the lot:

Came across these tiny little white flowers, which are very pretty, would like to know what they are:

As I was taking their picture, I saw a hawk hovering high overhead, waiting for prey:

Trudging back up to the lock-up with the strimmer, black clouds appeared on the horizon again, and I felt the first drop of rain; looks like being another wet night.
